Job Description:
What you will do:
Assume responsibility for completion of the transaction after underwriting binds an account, including but not limited to:
Assist in the verification of proper documentation regarding coverage and limits prior to completing transactions.
Ability to utilize ISO form knowledge to act as a subject matter expert for proper form selection.
Utilize various internal systems to complete policy drafting, verify data accuracy of drafted policy, set-up within our internal electronic document management system, and follow-up for underwriter approval.
Complete booking of premium within appropriate system, and confirm premium posted properly.
Maintain responsibility for federal and state transportation filings.
Issue approved policies, perform review of underlying policies, report policy data to third party reporting agencies such as the Workers Compensation bureaus and the Department of Motor Vehicles, and resolve criticisms from those reporting agencies in a timely manner.
Communicate, as needed, with producers to obtain information required to complete transactions.
Process post-bind transactions, including endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
Contribute to the Crum & Forster team environment and continuous improvement philosophy:
Provide expertise and support for offshore counterparts performing data entry for pre-quote in underwriting workbooks and systems, such as auto classification, GL classification, schedule of underlying, and losses.
Communicate and collaborate with other departments within the corporation to answer policy questions, resolve issues, and identify ways to streamline processes.
Work with system support to test releases when the verification of successful programming involves a review of the production environment.
Assist in quality verification of all policy transactions, processes and procedures.
What you will bring to C&F:
Knowledge of insurance processes and procedures with emphasis on surplus lines of business.
College degree preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to take initiative.
Solid computer skills including Word, Excel: E-mail & Internet Based Technology
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and move quickly from one project to another.
